ArcGIS Image Server
ESRI December 15th, 2006I was interested to read that ArcGIS Image Server is now available. Now I admit that I haven’t had any advanced information about the product (has anybody?) but was disappointed to find that its only supported on Windows servers.
Disappointed but not surprised. I was hoping for a more open API (specifically something other than ArcObjects and/or .Net) and the ability to use image server on Linux/Unix.

Don’t forget Gary that ArcGIS Image Server is technically not an ESRI product, but one they bought. Do a Google search for “PromptServer” or visit the old http://www.promptgeo.com/ website.

Right, but given the time between announcement of the product at UC and now, I thought there was some re-engineering going on behind the scenes.
